1. Anadarine (S4) is a SARM, specifically a medication that binds firmly to the androgen receptors. Unlike an anabolic androgenic steroids, S4 focuses only on the bone and muscle sites unlike other androgenic compounds that may affect secondary sex organs.

2. By binding to the androgen receptors, S4 alters the gene expression, thereby increasing anabolism via increases in protein synthesis. Although a highly effective compound, in comparison to its binding affinity it is approximately one third that of testosterone.

3. Andarine (S4), unlike many androgens, does not convert to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and it does not aromatize. Aromatization refers to the conversion of testosterone to estrogen.

4. This makes S4 a bit more appealing on a functional basis compared to other androgenic compounds as negative DHT and Estradiol effects cannot occur with this compound. In fact, S4 has been shown to block DHT from binding to the prostate receptor sites.

5. S4 is based off of the same template molecularly as the drug Bicalutamide, an anti-androgen. However, unlike Bicalutamide, the severe negative effects of that drug are not present with Andarine - while a similar template it is not the same drug

6. The effects of Andarine (S4) can range from bulking to cutting and total body transformation; however, bulking (muscle/mass gains) will be the weakest of the three areas.

7. S4 is not known for packing on a lot of lean muscle tissue, but lean gains can and should be made providing enough calories are present along with muscular stimulation (exercise).

8. For the off-season athlete looking to really pack on size, this is not a product they’ll want to base their plan around although it could be a solid addition to a plan, simply not a standalone item.

9. Andarine is well known for aiding in strength increases. Increasing strength can be a benefit when trying to grow as it allows the individual to lift heavier weights.

10. However, strength and size do not always go hand-in-hand and cannot be used as a gauge when trying to grow. It is very possible to gain little to no weight and still increase strength despite no increases in size

How does it work

 
Selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMS) bind to the androgen receptor and demonstrate osteo (bone) and myo (muscular) anabolic activity.

Binding and activation of the Androgen receptor alters the expression of genes and increases protein synthesis which ultimately builds muscle.

SARMS such as S4 can cause muscle growth in the same manner as steroids, however unlike testosterone and other anabolic steroids, SARMS (as nonsteroidal agents) do not produce the growth effect on prostate and other secondary sexual organs.

SARMS not only represent a new potential treatment option for a wide spectrum of conditions such as muscle wasting diseases (from age-related to AIDS or cancer-related), but they also have immense potential for muscle building for Bodybuilders, fitness and athletes.

S-4 in particular binds to the androgen receptor in muscle and bone to a third of the affinity of Testosterone.

Andarine (GTx-007, S-4) is an investigational selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) developed by GTX, Inc for treatment of conditions such as muscle wasting, osteoporosis and benign prostatic hypertrophy,[1] using the non-steroidal androgen antagonist bicalutamide as a lead compound.

 
Side effects:

 
S-4 is a little suppressive at high doses. Comparably, it is not as suppressive as LGD-4033, but it’s more than Ostarine. The recommendation is to follow its use with a post cycle therapy regimen immediately. Even though modified mini-pct is said to be excellent for recovery, using of supplements like HCGenerate is sufficient to address the little suppression caused.

 
It binds to the ocular receptors in the eye to create a faint yellow tint, which sometimes makes it difficult to adjust to darkness; though this is not prevalent among those experimenting with S-4, and it proves short-term as it goes away after discontinuing its use. It does not aromatize into estrogen; thus it requires no inhibitor on cycle.
